Aida Spahic graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology with specialization in Law, Crime, and Deviance. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law during which time she interned at the Legal Aid and Defender Association, Inc. and for Hon. Virginia M. Morgan at the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Spahic most recently worked as an American law professor at the Faculte de Droit et de Science Politique in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Ms. Spahic specializes in criminal defense, where she has assisted clients in achieving Not Guilty verdicts and reducing sentencing and jail times. She is no stranger to injustice. As a war refugee who has experienced genocide and ethnic-cleansing growing up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Spahic possesses a skill, many other attorneys do not, and that is the ability to empathize and personally connect with individuals struggling against injustice. She is proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian.
